Cooking

Image
RB is a vegetarian bear.   He knows that’s a little unusual for a bear, people normally think of them as being a bit grizzly and what not... not our Rescue.   Since he was saved from the street he doesn’t like to think of anyone being harmed, whether they’re furry or not so furry, feathery or scaly.   He loves his food so he likes to help out in the kitchen whenever he can.   His human mum even made him a little apron so he doesn’t get his fur grubby when he’s cooking.   He quite enjoys a glass of wine too (but that’s a story for another day).

Family

Image
As a street bear RB never really knew who his real bear family were.   It seemed they were lost somewhere in his dark and shadowy past, during those turbulent times before he was rescued (we know that’s how he lost his ear too, but he won’t talk about it, not even to me).   When he became a social media savvy bear though something rather amazing happened.   RB discovered that he was not only a Teddy Bear but also a Plushie.   Not only that but there were tons of Plushies all over the world and they all wanted to be friends with RB, he soon found he was part of a massive online Plushie Community!   What happened next was truly magical and I’m not going to lie, a little bit emotional.   Rescue had a private message from a special little bear who looked just like him… a Charmin bear, it turned out he wasn’t the only one either, there were lots and lots all over the world, a whole long lost family of bears who all looked a little bit like our Rescue. ...

Backstage Bear

Back in 2016 RB went on a very particular adventure with his adopted human mum called Touring Theatre.   Now RB hadn’t worked in a theatre before and didn’t really know what touring was (lets be real he’d never really worked anywhere before) but when he found out it meant travelling all over the UK to a new place every week for a whole year he was bang up for it.   He’s now a seasoned professional theatre mascot.   He mainly works in the wardrobe department but has been known to lend a paw when needed in all sorts of ways from stage door keeping to flicking switches on the sound desk.   He’s excellent for morale and generally spreading joy.   He’s also got rather a lot of snazzy costumes. Being a backstage bear is also how RB first found his way onto Instagram, so these days he gets to spread joy and bring a smile to 100’s of people everyday!

Meet Rescue Bear, the little bear with the big attitude...

Image
Back in 2011 Rescue Bear was found in the gutter by the side of the road.  Neglected and unloved, covered in mud and with one ripped ear, he had been living on the streets in untold horror.  After a lot of soap, hot water and love he came up as good as new and so began his new life of fun and adventures. RB already shares photos nearly everyday on his Instagram account @rescue.bear and now that he has his own website he’s excited to share even more about his adventures and travels plus some of his favourite recipes, crafty makes and travel blogs.

Adventures

Image
RB lives for adventures and the open road, wherever that may take him.   He spent his early years as a dash board dude in a crazy old minibus which had been converted into a campervan.   He travelled the length and breadth of the country and went to loads of festivals, he’s even been to the world famous Glastonbury festival (only as a punter though, I expect if he went now he’d probably get a headliner’s slot).   He’s been abroad lots too, France, Ireland, Holland, Nepal, India.   He’s especially good at sneaking through customs by pretending to be an inanimate object in the ruck sack.   They fall for it every time! As much as he loves a big adventure RB likes the small ones too, like a little walk round the park or even a trip to the supermarket, he’s not too fussed.   Adventure is everywhere you look, that’s RB’s moto.
